St. Brigid's welcomes and values children. They are encouraged to participate
in all areas of church life. One third of our congregation is under the age of
eighteen. Once every four to six weeks our Sunday worship is especially geared for
our younger members, though it is enjoyed by all. Pastor Judi provides a
message aimed for the children and youth. Our young people serve as ushers
and lay readers. They are always encouraged to share their talents at an
early age. Vocal solos, instrumental solos, liturgical dance, and drama are
some of the artistic mediums we have enjoyed.
Our Youth Group for Middle and High School students meets on the second Saturday of
the month and on other occasions for special events. Several times throughout
the year our elementary age children are invited to participate in a service
project or social activity either with the older students or in an activity
designed especially for them.
Spiritual Formation for children or pre-school age through eighth grade is offered on Sunday
mornings at 10:00 am. The curriculum, entitled Bible Quest, leads the learners to
encounter the overall story of the Bible, interpret the story, connect the story with their own
experiences, and live in the world as disciples of Jesus Christ. Because people learn in a
variety of ways, the lessons are presented using visual arts, music, language, and movement,
with both individual and group experiences.
